LOUISVILLE, KY (September 20, 2022) - Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA) joined the Mayor’s Equity Task Force in Contract Administration and Procurement on Wednesday, September 14, for the group’s inaugural Matchmaker event.
During the networking event, hosted by Louisville Central Community Center, LMHA leaders discussed contracting opportunities with local Minority and Women Business Enterprises.LMHA is one of more than 12 members of the Mayor’s Equity Task Force in Contract Administration and Procurement. Mayor Greg Fischer launched the task force in September 2020 to address the existing wealth gaps in Louisville’s Black-owned and Diverse-owned businesses.
Diverse businesses hired by LMHA within the last year include ARGC Construction Group, LLC; Jump Start Realty and Development; LH Barrett Company LLC; Sang Tree Services; and Springfield Plumbing. The contractors completed residential and restoration projects on several LMHA properties.
“We know there are talented and skilled contractors out there,” LMHA Section 3 Coordinator Phil Reidinger said. “We are working diligently to connect with Minority, Women, and Disabled Business Enterprises and help them generate business. Their success is our success.”
Participation percentage goals for LMHA projects:
MBE - 25%
WBE - 10%
DBE - .5%
